I found this Royal Rumble tidbit and thought I’d pass it along. I strongly recommend you file it under the “nobody cares” category; because let’s face it, there is no real rhyme or reason to this:
Exactly half of the possible Royal Rumble draws have never produced a winner, meaning there are 15 numbers out there that might become first-time winners this Sunday. On the flip side, there are 16 numbers that have delivered a winner. Yes, that math adds up to 31. That’s because Alberto Del Rio won with the 38 slot in 2011, back when the Rumble featured 40 Superstars.
Here’s the list of draws and the corresponding years that won (or not) at that number:
1. 1995, 2004
2. 1999, 2006
3. 1992
4.
5. 1997
